Obituary for Matthew Paul "Matt" Kammerer

Matthew Paul "Matt" Kammerer
Matthew Paul Kammerer was born to Leo and Suzanne Kammerer on January 30, 1965 as the oldest of what would be nine children. He attended St. Antoninus for grade school and later St. Xavier High School. He was very dedicated to St. Xavier and made many incredible friendships through classes, football, drama, and swimming. After St. Xavier, he graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor’s of Finance, and then The University of Toledo for law school. In 1996, he married Lisa Donisi and they had four children: Lauren Elizabeth (Reams), Margaret Suzanne, Gabrielle Antoinette, and Matthew Paul II.
Matt was a dedicated member of his parish, St. Martin of Tours where he lectored and served on Finance Commission for many years. One of his biggest joys was coaching the St Martin’s football team which he did for over ten years. He loved coaching and inspiring young men. He later helped to coach his son’s baseball and basketball teams to continue to help.
He leaves behind his wife, four children, his parents and his eight siblings: J. Bradley, David (Kathy), Jonathan (Kathleen), Andrew (Jen), Lee (Liz), Tim and Mike (Lauren) Kammerer and Mary Grace (Brian) Faigle; as well as his siblings-in-law: Paul (Laura) and Maria Donisi and Mike Bast.
Matt passed away on December 18, 2017 after battling ALS for almost 3 years. It is a horrible disease, and leaves little good with it. Even so, he never complained and never gave up the fight. His family finds comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at Neidhard Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave., Westwood. Funeral Mass 10:30am Friday at St. Martin of Tours Church, Cheviot. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church Cemetery in Bridgetown. Donations may be made to the ALS Association Central & Southern Ohio Chapter,1170 Old Henderson Road - Suite 221 - Columbus, Ohio 43220 or to The Evans Scholars Foundation, One Briar Road, Golf, IL 60029.
